What to Expect During Your Evaluation
Initial psychiatric evaluations typically last 60–90 minutes. Here is what the process looks like:
Intake Paperwork
Before your appointment, you will complete intake forms covering your current concerns, medical history, medications, and relevant personal history.
Clinical Interview
Your psychiatrist will conduct a structured interview exploring your presenting symptoms, their onset and duration, and how they affect your daily life.
History Review
We review your psychiatric history, family mental health history, medical conditions, substance use history, and any prior treatments or hospitalizations.
Diagnosis & Recommendations
At the conclusion of the evaluation, your psychiatrist will share their clinical impressions, discuss potential diagnoses, and outline a recommended treatment plan tailored to your needs.
